Needle reveiw and a pattern deisng update

When the Addi Flexi flips first came out I was so excited to try them. I had a few sets of different sizes, which was a hard task to do at that time since they were very hard to find. The demand for them was high and everywhere that sold them would sell out in minutes. I tried them and didn't like them so I gave my needle away. Last week I was thinking about them and decided to give them one more try. I bought the addi flexi flips in the size 2.25mm size.addi flexi flips (this is an Affiliate link and I may get a compensation for items purchased from this link)
When I first started knitting with them I didn't like them but I was determined to like them. Unlike knitting socks using the magic loop you don't have loops of cable getting in your way. Double point needles are nice but no matter what I do with double pointed needles I always get a ladder. When using circular needles I don't get as much as a ladder. With the Addi's I don't get any ladders at all. I was about to give up on them again and return them back to amazon but like I said before I was determined.
A big light bulb came on over my head as I remembered when I used to knit with double pointed needles I used to use the Irish cottage knitting, so i figured let me try that method with the Flexi flips. Low and behold it clicked and this style seems to work best for me. Although each knitter is different and thier is no right or wrong way to knit, each knitter has different techniques that works for them, but may not work for some else. I am a prime example, I don't always Portuguese knit or lever knit (Irish cottage knitting).
The three main styles of knitting I use are Portuguese knitting, lever knitting, and flicking. I tried picking but I can not for the life of me get the tension right when picking. I will get more in detail about some of the different styles of knitting and the benefits of each style. For me it depends on what project I am working on and if my wrist or thumb is acting up.
Now for the design update. I always have new ideas popping up in my head and I will either write them down or start the design and write it down as I go. I may only get a little done at first before putting it off to the side but at least I have it started and written notes so whn I go back to it I will remeber what I was doing or my thoughts on it. Similar to when you write poetry, you get the idea in your head for a beautiful poem but you don't jot it down on paper then it is lost forever.
I have bad arches and I love wearing sock with arch supports so I am creating and designing a pair of sporty socks with arch support. When I write the pattern up I will add instructions on measuring the foot and marking your arch so when you make the sock they will match your arch. I got the first sock done and I am starting the second one. I plan on having this one in testing soon. And will keep you all updated on the progress.
