multi color double end glass pearl Portuguese knitting necklace

This double ended portuguese knitting necklace is made with glas pearl beads in a varitey of colors.

This is a new style of Portuguese knitting necklaces I am going to be making. They feature a a hook on both ends that you hag around your neck and can you both hook for color work when working with more than one color of yarn. If you are not working with two colors you can use one strand hooked to on both hooks. As an added bonus when not knitting instead of putting in in your knitting bag, you can wear it as a wrapped bracelet and wrap it around your wrist a few time so you have your necklace handy when you decide to knit again.

With the Portuguese style you with knit with the yarn around your neck (which can sometimes irritate your neck) or by using a knitting pin. With the knitting pin you pin it up near your left shoulder and tension the yarn in the hook. I found this style of knitting due to an injury with my wrist where it hurt to much to knit English throwing style and I love this style of knitting so much better.

since you are using the pin as tension your hands stay on the needle which causes less hand movement which is easier on your hands. This style is very easy to learn, and you are also able to knit faster.
